Museum's blue whale gets a makeover

Lorraine Cornish, the head of conservation at London's Natural History Museum, is currently preparing the institution's blue whale skeleton to take up a more prominent position.

The specimen, which is more than 100 years old, is going to be suspended in the NHM's front entrance in 2017.

The conservator spoke with our correspondent Jonathan Amos and described the task of first dismantling the whale from its previous display point and then cleaning it.
