COP26: John Kerry’s speech ‘hopeful’ says Greenpeace International
The US climate envoy’s speech at COP 26 was a good start but more is likely to be needed, the executive director Greenpeace International has said.
Jennifer Morgan told the BBC that the US had been one of the main countries "holding back progress" by not supporting the level of finance which poorer countries will need to deal with the effects of climate change.
Mr Kerry's speech showed the United States is finally starting to support climate justice actions, she said, but the current COP26 draft agreement does not live up to what scientists are warning about,
