Truth or fiction: forecasts for the future

Space elevators 600km high, the ability to edit and record dreams, video overlays of buildings, augmented senses and self-driving pods still all seem in the realm of sci-fi.

But the cliche that science fiction often becomes fact certainly seems to be inspiring people predicting the future.

Futurologist Ian Pearson explains what he believes will be possible by the end of the 21st Century.
