Social network Ask.fm defends online anonymity

The social network Ask fm has admitted that allowing users to stay anonymous can cause "problems and issues".

But in an exclusive interview with BBC Radio 1's Newsbeat , the company's defended allowing people to hide their identity.

The site's been linked to several teen suicides in the UK and abroad and has also been criticised for not taking cyber-bullying seriously.

Newsbeat's Jonathan Blake was given exclusive access to Ask.fm's base in Riga.
