Tech review: A look back at the week's headlines

Google has announced it will start building its own self-driving electric cars. The vehicles will be controlled by a smartphone and a single stop-go button. The top speed will be limited to 25 mph (40 kh/h) to help ensure safety.

A convicted hacker-turned informant, who was facing more than 20 years in prison, has been handed a sentence of a year's supervision after he worked with the US authorities to identify other hacking suspects.

And Valve has delayed the launch of its Steam Machine video games PCs until 2015 to spend more time working on the system's controllers.
