Apple targets TV as a '1970s device'
A comment by Apple CEO Tim Cook in a recent interview saying that television is "stuck in the 70's" has sparked debate regarding whether television is keeping up with changes in technology and consumer demands.
Speaking on the Today programme Cate Sevilla, managing editor at BuzzfeedUK, said "the way in which you watch broadcast television really has not changed all that much... It's very frustrating now."
However Lindsey Clay, CEO of Thinkbox, explained that some key traditional aspects to television were still very much in demand:
"TV is fundamentally a social and communal experience… Live TV is here for good."
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday 15 September.
