Are social media videos spoiling theatre?
Movie-style trailers designed to be shared on social media have become increasingly common for theatrical shows.
It is now normal for West End productions to have trailers, and the big budget of these shows means the preview videos can be very slick. Keen not to be left behind, fringe shows are also getting in on the act, but with fewer resources.
BBC News caught up with Nick Brooke, a West End producer, during the run of his latest show The Tiger Who Came to Tea. He is in favour of theatre trailers.
Actor Toby Manley, busy at the Edinburgh Fringe, has reservations about the cross-over from the stage to social media.
