Retrofitted tech turns cars to self-driving vehicles
Volvo, Audi and Google are among the companies in the race to create self-driving cars for the general public.
But startup Cruise Automation, external is developing technology that can be retrofitted to cars with an automatic gearbox.
A computer at the rear of the vehicle processes sensor data from the roof mounted pod and sends it to actuators which control the steering, acceleration and braking.
