Computer beats human at Go

The ancient game of Go, which originated in China, is so complex it has always baffled computers.

But recently, a programme beat professional-level human player, three-time European Go champion Fan Hui.

The defeat is being seen as a milestone in the development of artificial intelligence.

Demis Hassabis of DeepMind, the company behind the contest, told Kamal Ahmed how it was done.
