'Cloned milk' claim to be investigated by FSA

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is investigating claims that milk from a cloned cow's offspring is on sale in the UK, after an unnamed British dairy farmer said he used milk from a cow produced from a cloned parent.

Scientists maintain that the milk from the offspring of cloned parents is safe, although some highlight ethical and animal welfare problems with the process.

In July, MEPs voted in favour of a law that would ban cloned meat and other animal products in the European food supply.

The BBC's Rural Affairs Correspondent Jeremy Cooke reports.
