Why is fugitive tycoon Asil Nadir returning to the UK?

Fugitive tycoon Asil Nadir is reportedly to return to the UK on Thursday after evading trial since 1993.

Mr Nadir told the Times he was leaving his home in northern Cyprus to face fraud charges relating to the collapse of his Polly Peck business empire.

He will have to wear an electronic tag until the end of his trial and pay a bail surety of £250,000.

But why has he decided to come back now? The BBC's Julie Peacock explains.
