Celeb 'Super Thursday' as memoirs flood shops

Fans of celebrity autobiographies are being faced with an embarrassment of riches as the publishing trade floods bookshops with memoirs on what's known in the trade as Super Thursday.

More than 50 hardback titles from the likes of Dame Judi Dench, Chris Evans, Susan Boyle, Justin Bieber, Danny Dyer and Gok Wan hit the bookshelves as the competition to become a Christmas best seller becomes serious.

Radio 4 newsreader Peter Donaldson took a few of the more entertaining autobiographies for a quiet read.
