Dawber guilty verdict ends 'shocking child abuse ring'

Ann Redrop, from the Crown Prosecution Service, says the conviction of a woman who sexually assaulted a five-month-old baby ends the prosecution of "one of the most shocking child abuse rings in the country".

Tracy Dawber, 44, formerly of Southport on Merseyside, had pleaded not guilty at Winchester Crown Court.

Her now ex-boyfriend Colin Blanchard, 40, formerly of Rochdale, previously admitted being involved in the assault.

Dawber is the fifth member of Blanchard's paedophile ring to face justice.
