UK observes Armistice Day silence to honour war dead

Millions of people across the UK have observed a two-minute silence to mark Armistice Day.

Ceremonies have been taking place to honour all who have fallen since the First World War, including the 111 servicemen killed in Afghanistan in the past year.

The moment was marked at 11 o'clock this morning with 2 minute silence led by the Duke of Edinburgh at the Field of Remembrance outside Westminster Abbey.

Meanwhile, David Cameron laid a wreath at the site of the Army's bloodiest battle since the end of the Second World War, at the Imjin River in South Korea.
