'I applied for almost 2,000 jobs'

Job hunting can be a demoralising process at the best of times, but if you are disabled and the country is in the midst of an economic downturn, then it can prove almost insurmountable.

Twenty-seven-year-old Richard Shakespeare, who has cerebral palsy, is one such disabled person who has suffered the worst of the labour market.

Now a self-employed disability consultant, Mr Shakespeare told the BBC's Gary O'Donoghue the story of his search for work after losing his job just over a year ago.
