UK prepares for Arctic blast of snow and ice
Bitterly cold winds from the Arctic are likely to bring fresh snow to many parts of the UK over the next few days.
The fresh blast of cold air started arriving in the early hours of Thursday bringing the threat of black ice to Scotland's roads.
Scotland has already seen some of the worst snowfall which closed airports and left motorists stranded.
BBC weather presenter, Nick Miller, says a number of weather warnings have been issued.
