Shackleton's frozen whisky to reveal 100-year-old secrets

When the explorer Ernest Shackleton went on his Antarctic expedition in 1907 he took with him some heart-warming Scotch whisky and he left some of it behind, where it remained frozen in ice for more than 100 years.

But now some of the bottles have been brought back to Scotland where the distillers who made it want to see what they can learn from their whisky-making ancestors, as Richard Paterson, blender for Whyte and Mackay, explains.
