Royal College of Nursing no confidence vote in Lansley

Nurses attending their annual conference have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a motion of no confidence in the health secretary's proposed reforms to the NHS in England.

At the Royal College of Nursing Conference four hundred and seventy eight backed the vote with just six against.

The Health Secretary, Andrew Lansley, says there will be a chance to pause and make substantive changes to the bill as it goes before parliament.

The Labour leader, Ed Miliband, has accused the government of putting the NHS at risk and said David Cameron should take responsibility and drop the bill.
