IPCC investigation finds Pilkingtons 'failed badly' by police

Four police officers from the Leicestershire force are to face misconduct proceedings after an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

It found that they failed to protect a woman who killed herself and her disabled daughter after years of abuse from a teenage gang.

Fiona Pilkington and her 18-year-old daughter died when she set fire to her car near her home in Barwell nearly four years ago.

Mark Worthington reports.
