Pirbright lab told to improve safety over foot and mouth

The animal research laboratory at the centre of an outbreak of foot and mouth has been told it must do more to improve safety following two incidents earlier this year.

In one case at the Institute for Animal Health, a flask containing the foot and mouth virus cracked and leaked though the virus wasn't released into the environment.
