Unions warned over strike 'trap'

The Shadow Chancellor Ed Balls has urged unions not to fall into what he called the "government's trap" by going on strike over public sector pension reform.

Mr Balls said ministers are seeking a confrontation so that they can blame the unions for the country's economic problems.

Union leaders are threatening the biggest wave of industrial action since the general strike of 1926.

Deputy Political Editor James Landale reports.
