James Murdoch evidence disputed by former executives

News International has denied accusations that its chairman James Murdoch misled MPs investigating phone-hacking.

Labour MP Tom Watson, who is calling for police to look at the allegations, called it a "significant moment" in the inquiry.

In a statement issued by News Corporation, Mr Murdoch said: "I stand by my testimony to the select committee."
