Drain covers latest target of metal thieves

The high price of scrap metal has seen thefts of lead from church roofs to copper cables from the railways - and now cast iron drain covers are being targeted.

The expense and potential danger incurred by the thefts has prompted calls for the laws around scrap metal sales to be tightened up.
