Brooch featured on Antiques Roadshow may raise £10,000

A brooch by the Victorian designer and architect William Burges is expected to make up to £10,000 when it goes up for auction in Leicestershire on Tuesday.

The brooch featured on BBC One's Antiques Roadshow when jewellery expert Geoffrey Munn showed sketches of what he called his "most wanted" items.

Jill Cousins from Market Harborough spotted a brooch she owned among the items pictured.

She had planned to sell it at a local market two days after the show.

Auctioneer Mark Gilding spoke to the BBC's Dominic Heale about the discovery.
