PM vows to do 'whatever it takes' to catch riot criminals

MPs have been recalled to Parliament to hold an emergency debate on the riots that have rocked cities across England in recent days.

In the Commons earlier, the prime minister described the wave of violence as "criminality pure and simple" vowing to do "whatever it takes" to track down those responsible and make them pay for what they have done.

David Cameron also announced a series of measures to help people and businesses affected by the trouble.
