Mother of 12-year-old Salford looter 'not to blame'

The mother of a 12-year-old boy who stole a golf club from a looted shop in Salford has said she is not to blame.

The woman admitted she was ashamed of her son but that she was unable to look after her children 24 hours a day.

The boy was handed in to police by his mother and received a nine-month referral order at the Magistrates Court in Manchester.
