Red Arrows pilot died at scene of Bournemouth air show crash - police

The police and the Ministry of Defence have confirmed the pilot of a Red Arrows plane which crashed at the Bournemouth Air Festival has been killed.

Ch Insp Steve White of Dorset Police said Flt Lt Jon Egging, 33, had been thrown from the aircraft and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He added that his deepest condolences went to the pilot's family and the Red Arrows team.
