TUC conference: Brendan Barber attacks riots response

The government's response to the riots that swept English cities last month has been "profoundly wrong", TUC general secretary Brendan Barber has said.

He accused David Cameron of "reaching for simplistic clichés about moral decay" rather than tackling the poverty and inequality behind the disorder.
