Red Arrows widow Dr Emma Egging to run Great North run

The widow of Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging, the pilot killed following a Red Arrows display, is taking part in the Great North Run.

Dr Emma Egging is setting up a trust in memory of her husband, and is running the race in his memory.

The Jon Egging Trust aims to give disadvantaged young people a chance to experience flying.

The Red Arrows will pay tribute to their colleague when they fly over the Tyne Bridge at the Great North Run in Newcastle.
