Dale Farm resident 'thanks God' for reprieve

Travellers at the UK's largest illegal travellers site, at Dale Farm, Essex, have won a court injunction delaying their planned eviction.

The injunction prevents Basildon Council from clearing the site pending a further High Court hearing on Friday.

Dale Farm resident Kathleen McCarthy said that she had been praying for a reprieve and thanked God for the latest development in the ongoing saga.

Speaking to the BBC's Fergal Keane, she also said that that residents would not waver in their battle to keep their homes and would fight on "to the bitter end".
