Britain's first public fuelling station for hydrogen-powered vehicles has opened in Swindon, with developers saying that it is a significant step in the creation of a 'hydrogen highway' along the M4.

It is also seen as an important step in a UK-wide scheme to make hydrogen vehicles a viable alternative to petrol-driven cars.
