Scientists use technology to study coastal erosion

A group of scientists from Plymouth University and the US and Australia are measuring how grains of sand move up and down a beach in Cornwall and then adapting coastal defences in response to their findings.

Their testing equipment is rigged to scaffolding to discover what happens to grains of sand at high tide.
