'Occupy' protests at St Paul's Cathedral, London

Around 500 protesters have been continuing to demonstrate outside St Paul's Cathedral after a day of protest in London's financial district.

There were some clashes between police and protesters, but the situation remained largely peaceful.

As night fell in London, approximately 70 tents were pitched at the foot of the steps of St Paul's. One demonstrator, Bronte Plenderleith, said ''we can't just sit back and let daylight robbery be committed against our taxpayers'.'

The rally is part of a worldwide protest against "corporate greed" inspired by the US's Occupy Wall Street movement.
