How do you prepare British troops for the intensity of war, in the searing heat of Afghanistan?

California might not seem an obvious choice, but conditions in the Mojave desert are almost identical to those in Afghanistan.

Royal Marine Commandos have spent three weeks training there as they prepare for another deployment this month.
