What impact has the public sector strike had?

A 24-hour strike by public sector employees over changes to their pensions is set to be the UK's biggest stoppage in a generation.

Workers began to walk out at midnight and the unions say around two million people have taken part in the industrial action, causing disruption to public transport, schools, courts and council services.

The government wants workers in the public sector to pay more in pension contributions and work longer before they can retire.

Nick Robinson reports.
