RSPCA warns shoppers about 'illegal eggs'

The RSPCA is warning shoppers they could buy eggs that fail to meet new welfare standards, without realising it.

From January 1, old-style battery cages will be banned throughout the European Union.

But more than a dozen EU members are yet to comply with the new laws, and eggs and egg products from those countries could still make their way into the UK.
