Prospect to consider pensions offer

The government is expected to announce that it is edging towards a deal with the unions over public sector pensions.

The two sides have been locked in talks aimed at preventing a repeat of last month's nationwide strike, which involved more than two million workers.

But Paul Noon from the Prospect union, which represents civil servants, says they have given the "green light" to further talks, but that ministers still need to go further if they want to reach agreement.

He spoke to BBC Breakfast.
