Animal quarantine laws to be relaxed in New Year

Animal quarantine laws are to be relaxed in Britain from the start of the New Year.

It will be cheaper and easier for owners to travel abroad with their pets.

Animals coming into the UK will no longer have to spend six months in quarantine.

But some animal welfare groups, including the RSPCA, claim the changes could expose Britain to an increased risk of disease.

Jenny Hill reports.
