Doreen Lawrence on sentencing: 'Judge's hands were tied'

Doreen Lawrence, the mother of the murdered black teenager Stephen Lawrence, has said the sentencing of two men convicted of his killing will mark a new chapter in her life.

Speaking outside the Old Bailey, where Gary Dobson and David Norris were sentenced, she said she had been "in limbo for so long".

She went on to say that although she felt the sentences for her son's killers were low she appreciated the "judge's hands were tied" in what length of jail term he could give.
