UK assisted dying 'law change needed'

There is a case for allowing assisted suicide for people who are terminally ill in England and Wales, according to a report by a group of experts.

The Commission on Assisted Dying was set up and funded by campaigners who want to see a change in the law.

Baroness Barbara Young, who was a part of the commission, said that current UK legislation was "unsatisfactory, with a fair degree of ambiguity".

Speaking to the BBC, she also said that there was wide public support for allowing assisted suicide for the terminally ill.
