Met chief: Gangs a serious problem in London
A squad of 1,000 police officers dedicated to tackling gang-related crime in London is being launched as part of a crackdown by the Metropolitan Police.
The Trident Gang Crime Command will monitor gang activity across London.
Speaking to the BBC Breakfast, Met Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe said that gangs were a very serious problem in the capital and that members should expect "a knock on the door" from police.
