Capello left because of 'misunderstanding'

Former England manager Fabio Capello has told Italian television he left his job as England manager because of a "misunderstanding".

A reporter on the Striscia la Notizia television show, a satirical news programme chased Capello down a railway platform in Lugano, Switzerland, to hand him a golden tapir award.

The award is given to celebrities or politicians who have been in the media for having made a mistake or having been in difficulty.

Capello insisted he did not escape and said: "I left because there was a misunderstanding".
