London riots: Burnt shop owner pays tribute to police

Gordon Thompson, 33, has pleaded guilty to starting a fire which destroyed a 144-year-old furniture shop in south London during last summer's riots.

Maurice Reeves, owner of Reeves Furniture, which burnt down said he never thought police would find the person who started the fire.

He said he had seen the CCTV footage, and you can see him lighting the settee in the shop, which he described as heartbreaking, but what is done is done.
