Clare's Law 'for men and women'

People in some parts of England and Wales will soon be able to ask police if their partner has a history of domestic violence, under Clare's Law.

The pilot scheme, which will be tried out in four police areas, has been called Clare's Law after Clare Wood who died at the hands of her ex boyfriend who had a record of violence.

The announcement comes after a campaign for a change to the rules by Michael Brown, the father of Clare Wood, who said domestic violence applies to men as well as women.
