Vicar on 'stunned silence' after soldier deaths

A memorial service is being held in Halifax today for the six soldiers killed in a bomb attack in Afghanistan last week.

Five of them were from 3rd Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment.

One of the men, Corporal Jake Hartley, would have been celebrating his 21st birthday on Sunday.

The Reverend Harvey Gibbons, who is vicar in Warminster where the soldiers were based, told Edward Stourton on Radio 4's Sunday programme how local people had reacted to their deaths.
