Falklands War: British troops land at San Carlos

British landings begin at San Carlos on East Falkland, with 3,000 troops and 1,000 tonnes of supplies brought ashore in order to establish a beachhead.

Troops found little in the way of cover, but Falklanders were quick to lend a hand shifting ammunition and frontline supplies.

Jeremy Hands reports from San Carlos.

First broadcast 8 June 1982.
