How the Titanic sank

One hundred years ago, just before midnight on 14 April 1912, the massive luxury liner RMS Titanic raced into an iceberg at almost full speed.

Two-and-a-half hours later, it sank to the bottom of the Atlantic with the loss of more than 1,500 men, women and children.

Ian Murphy, curator of maritime history at Merseyside Maritime Museum, gives a tour of the original builders model of Titanic to show exactly what happened.
