Confusion over Abu Qatada's deportation

There is confusion over exactly when the government can deport the terror suspect Abu Qatada.

Hours after the home secretary had assured MPs that he would be on a plane soon, Abu Qatada lodged a last minute appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

Theresa May said the deadline for an appeal had already expired and it is now up to the court to decide.

Labour has called the case "a shambles".
