Wales footballer Ched Evans jailed for rape

Sheffield United and Wales footballer Ched Evans has been sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of raping a 19-year-old woman at a hotel near Rhyl in May 2011.

Another player, Clayton McDonald, was cleared of the same charge following the trial in which the woman, now 20, told the court she could not remember what happened and feared that her drinks had been spiked.
