Charity worker sold Olympic torch for £153,000

An Olympic torchbearer has sparked a row after selling her torch on the auction site eBay for more than £153,000.

Community gardener Sarah Milner Simonds, of Burnham-on-Sea in Somerset, is one of 8,000 people who have been chosen to carry a torch during the 70-day relay of the UK. She says she will use the money for charitable purposes.

London 2012 say torchbearers can do what they like with them once their part in the relay is over, but some have questioned whether it is right to sell a piece of Olympic history to the highest bidder.

Ms Milner Simonds was joined by fellow torchbearer Alex McCann and Auctioneer Adam Partridge on BBC Breakfast to discuss the issue.
